Minister Revd Emma Morgan
Situated just off the village main street, 3 miles from Scarborough, on the Whitby Road, we continue the Methodist witness in Scalby in a building opened in 1873. Sunday morning worship is varied with the first Sunday of the month led by church members and communion is celebrated once a month. We value our Local Preachers and ministers who lead worship.
Away from church a small group meets fortnightly on a Monday morning for Bible study & fellowship. We also hold monthly coffee mornings on the first Saturday of the month in aid of local charities. Our church is close to the village Anglican Church with whom we have a good relationship and shared concerns re community needs. We continue to strengthen ties with the other Methodist Churches in our area with whom we share a Minister.
We aim to remain true to our Mission Statement both in church and community: “To share by worship and caring the love of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord”, and work as a dedicated fellowship to understand our future place in our community and circuit and value your continued prayers.
Looking for a venue for a quiet day or a meeting place? Why not consider Scalby. We have a very pleasant building in a lovely village. There are eateries nearby or bring your own food. The church has facilities to make drinks.
