    1. Well done, David. I like the new web site and I like the way it works too.Doreen has already registered to use the site and I shall shortly be attempting to do the same.
As I see it, times are changing, modern ideas need to be taken on board and used. Communications are essential and the speed of communications using e mail and internet is an asset which all churches need to take on board and develop.
This is particularly true for the smaller and more rural churches in the circuit.
      Congratulations David.

    2. 2 to 3 am on a Saturday morning,
Lovely to be able to join with you. Lovely to pray together, to talk together to sing together and most of all to think about Seamer Methodist Church in a sensible and understanding way.
If the New Circuit is able to do this then we are indeed showing signs of a new begining.
      Love and blessngs to all,
      jim and doreen x x

Brilliant news- we have a lot more kids booked into site this year- but this means we are now short on 0-2′s and 3-4′s helpers! Do you know anyone suitably qualified with CRB clearance who might be willing to help? If so, please give us a call on 01782 524200. Thank you!

      • Hi, I’ve sent you an email. There is a full list of the names of the preachers in the printed copies of the circuit plan that are available in the churches (I’ve emailed one to you) and I’ve forwarded your message to Julie in the circuit office who sends out a weekly circuit notices email. Thanks, Dave

    7. Singing for Fun at Seamer Methodist Church is successful due to the hard work of Doreen Lawson and her husband Jim. Doreen has been gentle with the new choir from the start and is slowly stretching us and giving us confidence, especially the members who have never thought of being in a choir. We have had a few comments from visiting preachers about our enthusiasm for the hymns they have chosen (due to the fact that we practice them on the Friday before) Doreen was a deputy head at Filey Primary School and took her junior choir to great heights in Yorkshire Schools competitions. I wonder if we are more difficult to train as the children! If you have never thought to join a singing group but would like to join us on a Friday between 2pm and 3pm it’s fun and we sing songs from a wide ranch of music and shows. Of course like all singing groups we are a bit short of men, do come along we don’t bite!

      • It is a ‘local arrangement’ service so there is no visiting preacher. Members of the congregation at Burniston will take part.

    8. Hi have put my name down for a place to come to the burns supper @ church. This is just to confirm it with thanks.

    9. Can you tell me how much membership of Lealholm choir is for choristers and where rehearsals take place. Many thanks
      Sheila maclean

      • Hello Sheila and the Lealholm choir,
Did you find out about the Lealholm choir?
I am coming to Glaisdale on Thursday July 9 with our choir called the Singing Cyclists – we are 15 cyclists and are cycling from Whitehaven to Whitby where we are joining over 50 other choirs in the Whitby Street Choirs Festival July 10-12.
We are camping in Glaisdale on the night of Thursday July 9 and would very much like to join with another choir and/or local singers on that night – we could sing some of our songs, and/or teach some for joining in with.
If you are part of the choir, could you please give me a contact for the choir so I could ask if they could join us – or perhaps you could ask for me.
And also, could you please suggest a good venue – we are staying very near to Glaisdale church.
We would also be happy to do a concert raising funds for a local charity.
        with very best wishes,
        David Burbidge,
The Singing Cyclists, Sedbergh, Cumbria 015396.21166

    10. High just going to move into village could you tell me do you still have a tennis club if not can the courts still be used Regards Brian

      • Hi Anne, this is the local Methodist circuit website and this page was for an event in 2012 in aid of the local church. Your best bet would be to contact the Shire Horse Farm directly (their details are here http://www.shirehorsefarm.co.uk/) but as far as I know they only open in the summer months.

    11. Please could you let us have details Tec of the celebrations for the Queens 90th birthday in Scarborough on Sunday June 12th.Kind regards Ron and Gill C.

      • The post to which you replied gives you details of Queen Street’s Community Party. There is an evening service at St. Martin’s on the Hill at 6.30pm on Sunday 12th June to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday, in which Methodists from South Cliff are involved. Please visit the Scarborough Tourist Information site for wider community events, but I am afraid I know of none (which doesn’t necessarily mean there aren’t any). John Staton

    12. Hi, as a former member of the MAYC O and S back in the 80s, 90s and early 2000, I understand the now equivalent One Sound are coming to Scarborough. My mobile number is 07800537717 or landline 01723 365043
I am a first aider, registered nurse and midwife if those skills are needed, maybe not midwifery on a youth event….
      Hope to hear soon
