Christian Aid fundraising

1. The Annual Christian Aid Snooker Marathon will take place January 30th and 31st at Westborough Methodist Church – each day from 8am – 8pm.  Sponsor Forms and posters are available from the Circuit office (9.30- 1.00pm Monday to Friday) at Westborough Methodist Church, Circuit Office.
Please ensure that your church has a player who is willing to fill one of the time slots (2 hour slots) and that sponsorship for each player is maximised. Jeff Moorhouse (364872) is dealing with the rota, so please give him a ring.

There will be a coffee morning on Saturday 31st from 10.00am and Maggie Bridge (362091)will be pleased to receive any offers of cake etc.

Proceeds will go to the Christian Aid Christmas Appeal for Kenya (match funded £1-£1 by the British Government)

2. Circuit Charity Fundraising. Many, many thanks for the fantastic efforts so far. The Christian Aid Project in Kenya has now reached its limit (and we have raised £5,000, match funded by the EU £ for ever £1 which means £20,000 worth of difference). Any money now raised for Christian Aid will go to a partnership Project in Burkina Faso to help agricultural development and improving nutrition. This is match funded by the EU £5 for every £1 raised. More details of the project will follow separately. Please remember that raising money for Christian Aid and St Cateherin’es is a Circuit Charity project and may I remind you of Ken’s original request “Could I please ask that any funds raised by your church for the charity fundraising project are sent to me for handling through the Circuit accounts. I will be happy to accept cash if necessary, but it would be helpful if you would bank the money on your church account and let me have cheques made payable to North Yorkshire Coast Methodist Circuit.   Unless you specify otherwise all money received will be allocated for sharing equally between St. Catherine’s Hospice and the Christian Aid project in Africa’.
