District Spring Synod

On 27th April 2013 the North Yorkshire Coast Circuit will host the York and Hull District Spring Synod at Caedmon School, Airy Hill, Whitby YO21 1QA.

Synod meets from 9.30 am until 4 pm.

This entails an enormous amount of organisation, and as this is a responsibility for the whole of the North Yorkshire Coast Circuit, we would like to give as many people as possible across the circuit the opportunity to use your skills, get involved and if you wish, experience what happens at Synod. This is a chance to work together and make new friends across the Circuit/District.

We are looking for volunteers to

 Be a Work group member- setting up and arranging chairs etc before the event and  restoring to order afterwards. 8.30 -9.15 a.m and from 4.00p.m -4.45p.m

Help with assembly of stalls etc. from 8.45 – 9.15 am

Be Car Park Stewards from 9 00– 10.30 am and from 3,30 to 4.30 pm.

Be Welcomers- Hand out information as representatives arrive etc.

Be Stewards –on hand throughout the day to point people in the right direction etc.

Be Caterers

Prepare, serve tea / coffee and biscuits (from 9.15 – 10.15am)

Serve liquid refreshments from 12.30 – 1.30 pm (time to be confirmed)

Serve tea / coffee and cakes from 3.30 – 4.30pm.

And in all cases above- and clear up afterwards

Bake/ supply cakes / buns etc. for the 250 expected delegates


We are also looking for volunteers to co-ordinate the various tasks out-lined above as ‘team-leaders’. + a small specialist team of IT experts to help with the audio-visuals and computer related needs


If you are willing to help in any of these areas, please contact the circuit office or speak to one of the circuit stewards a.s.a.p. but before the end of February. Please give us your contact details in writing, with details of which area you would like to be involved with.


You can volunteer alone or with some-else from your church. If you would like to work alongside some-one else please indicate and let us have the names together.
